Subjective refraction

Subjective Refraction is an attempt to determine patient's refractive power based on their response in order to provide the best corrected visual acuity (vision). It combines techniques such as best vision sphere, cross-cyl (to determine astigmatism power), duochrome, monocular end-point, balancing, etc.

Subjective refraction will determine your level of hyperopia (farsightedness), myopia (nearsightedness), astigmatism and presbyopia.
